My name is Polina (you can also call me Polly). I am a Russian girl studying this fall semester in Utah as a part of an exchange program. Before this I studied 2 years in Moscow, Russia. My major is Advertising and Public Relations, my minor is Management. This is my first time traveling abroad and visiting the US so I am eager to see new places and meet new people!

I have never tried Couchsurfing before but I have heard so many amazing stories from other international students. That's why I decided to try to see the cities through experience of a local person. I want to understand the real life of Americans better. I think that I will not get this experience as an ordinary tourist staying in the hotel.

Interesses

As my major is Advertising and Public Relations, I am really interested in this field, especially marketing. I enjoy finding out about the best cases of different companies and new trends. I also love business. I had my own educational project and participated in some competitions here in US. Moreover, I am fond of sharing my knowledge, for example, I have been teaching English to Russian children for a few years.
I used to go cross-country skiing professionally and now it is still my hobby in winter. Besides, I find hiking an amazing activity.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

My music tastes varies greatly and depends on my mood but it is often pop and rock music in English and Russian. I also like songs in Spanish.
As for books, I usually read non-fiction ones about the fields I am interested in.
Some of my favorite movies are "The Pursuit of Happyness", "Collateral Beauty", "Home Alone". I also like "Lie to me" series.

I am eager to learn how people live in other countries. I have watched a lot of travel videos and now I am excited to discover different cultures in America. I consider myself as an open-minded person so I will be glad to know about any field of study even if it is completely new to me.
