Join Couchsurfing to see Polina and Roman’s full profile. It’s free!
First of all, we are not that kind of CSs with passwords and "key words" in their profiles, so it is not necessary to read all the information about us below. Don't afraid to copy-paste:) We are also travelers, so we know how it's sometimes hard to write long messages on the road. We will exchange our interests and experience in person.
Yes, CS is not about just saving money during your trip. But we don't like when some hosts misunderstand it as a way of exchange of material things. You are not obliged to bring food, presents or whatever to our house. Bring just yourself:)
We are married couple. For the moment we are living in Ivano-Frankivsk (however, it's a native town for Roman; Polina grew up in Zaporizhzhia (the south), lived in Kyiv, but moved here). It is often called "the gates to the Carpathian mountains", but for sure this definition doesn't reflect the city fully. So we advice you not to hurry to the mountains (or to Lviv), but to stay in the city at least for a day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The doors to our modest flat are always open for the guests from all over the world at any time. So don't hesitate to leave the last minute request here (usually we answer fast) or contact us on facebook:
or by phone (whatsapp, viber, telegram):
+38 093 7200857
+38 099 0406536
+38 098 9897510
It depends on the time you come, but we may also help you in exploring Carpathian mountains (as this is our most favorite and dearest place in the world and we will never be fed up with it). In non-couch-surfing life it is also our job:)
We often invite foreigners to join our trek in the Carpathians (for free, of course). You can check the routes, timetable and other information about Carpathians at the page of our travel agency on FB: https://www.facebook.com/trekkinginukraine.

We have traveled along European and Asian countries enjoying hospitality of couchsurfers. We had so wonderful experience every time learning the kindness and amiability of people of the world.
But we mostly host. We hosted amazing people listening to hundreds of their impressive stories.
We prefer travelling somewhere closer to the nature and further from people and "city jungle". But we are also fond of walking along the narrow streets, listening to the heels knocking the sett paved roads, watching the traces of history on the old buildings.
We like sports. Our perfect morning begins with running around the lake nearby. We enjoy the exhaustion after the cycling all the day. Our style of life can be called healthy, but we are not fanatic about it.
We are not beyond the politics. We like to discuss on it and modern processes and relations in the world.
We love art and can distinguish Monet from Manet:)
Some our interests are not common. Polina is a lawyer and her professional interests are free legal aid for vulnerable persons, protection of human rights, rights of prisoners of war, humanitarian law during the war conflicts (due to the situation in Ukraine).
And Roma is in love with stars, maps, countries' statistics and other geographical stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books
We like reading and try to buy books of local authors during our travel.
We also can be guide for you into Ukrainian classical and modern literature.
Music is a big part of our life: both playing, collecting new pieces and listening. We met each other at a rock music festival many years ago:) Most of all we like old rock music, jazz, different kinds of folk music and classical instrumental music. But we are open to all genres.
We'll especially appreciate if you introduce to us your local music.
Our favorite director is Quentin Tarantino; awesome pictures were made by Wes Anderson; stories by Woody Allen, A. Tarkovsky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Parachute jumps were exciting experience (with a broken leg at the first time).
Another memorable thing is cooking vurda (Carpathian cheese) with hutsuls (local mountain people) in the highlands.
What I Can Share with Hosts
- tasteful Ukrainian dishes (we love cooking, so you will not be hungry for sure);
- delicious herb (picked by us) tea;
- playing in guitar/piano/reed pipe/drymba/harmonica a lot of Ukrainian folk songs;
- a glance to the moon and stars through the telescope;
- endless conversations about Ukrainian culture, history, geography, politics;
- some legal help if you need one here;)
