About Me
Since I was little I wanted to see the world. Now, it's finally the time!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a PhD student and I was granted an exchange scholarship to Chicago. Because the selection process took a considerable amount of time, it's been hard finding acommodation. Thus, I thought Couchsurfing could help with that and, also, facilitate the process of getting to know new people and the city!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really into blues, jazz, brazilian popular music (MPB) and rock. One of my main passions is movies and books. There are so many, but the last ones that I watched and read that stuck with me were: Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and "So Many Olympic Exertions" by Anelise Chen.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've always wanted to travel and see the world, but I never had the money to do it, so for 12 years I have been exchanging postcards with people worldwide. I have two aacounts on postcrossing.com and more than 600 physical postcards (https://www.postcrossing.com/user/aboutpolly ; https://www.postcrossing.com/user/pollybelo)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Portuguese and about race and gender relations in Brazil (that's what my academic work is about!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendship, long conversations, cultural experiences and if there's any brazilian market around, I can cook some brazilian food!
