About Me

CURRENT MISSION

stop investing in my future self (that abstract bastard!) to start living the present. First stage of the mission: travel as much as possible!

ABOUT ME

Wow this is hard... Let's see: I have a good character, I think is very hard to get in a fight with me. I am the kind of friend that whenever you propose something, you will always hear "sure, let's do it", no matter how crazy the idea is. I am very open minded, and very curious. I think I enjoy more listening than talking, I like to hear to what people have to say. I can connect very fast with some people, and be a little shy with others, I don't know, it's a matter of chemistry I guess. I try to behave under the golden rule philosophy: "don't do to others what you don't want to be done to you".

PHILOSOPHY

Be the master of your destiny. Don't be afraid of making choices, no matter how hard they are. Family and friends are the most important part of life... "Happiness is not complete if it's not shared".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I am a beginner at CS... So far I am only looking for surfing because I am living in a small studio, so it's kind of uncomfortable to host. Eventually, when I move to a bigger place, I am open to that possibility too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Null, but hopefully that will change very soon!!

Interests

As a good Argentinian, I am a soccer fan, of course!! I love hanging out with my friends and family, an "asado" is my favorite ritual. I love traveling, I've been trying to make a good trip every year for the last 5 or 6 years. There is nothing like it, more things can happen in a month traveling than in a year of routine. A random list of other interests: economics, politics, literature, music, theater, cinema, poker...

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Forrest Gump, Adaptation, El Secreto de sus Ojos, The Truman Show, Cinema Paradiso, Elite Squad, Cidade de Deus, Amelie, Nueve Reinas (for sure I am forgetting some movies that I like a lot).

Music: The Rolling Stones, Andres Calamaro, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Coldplay, NTVG, La Vela Puerca, Calle 13, Jorge Drexler, David Guetta.

Books: Rayuela, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, A Confederacy of Dunces, Cien Anos de Soledad, Atonement, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Luckily, I think I have done several. Ok, here's one:

I jumped from the second highest bungy jumping of the world (and the highest from New Zealand): The NEVIS. 134 meters above a river, 10 seconds of free-fall. AMAZING!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: A very simple economic notion: Sunk cost. Say you paid $20 to go to a concert. Just when you are about to leave your house to go there, an incredible storm starts, with hailstones and everything. In this case, economic theory says that you should not care about the $20 that you paid to go to the concert in making your decision as regards going to the concert or not: they are SUNK. You should only base your decision on a comparison between the happiness that attending to the concert brings you and the unhappiness of getting there with a heck of a storm.

Learn: I would like to learn something about the cosmos.
