To travel from India to Australia/New Zealand avoiding flying as much as possible and to share experiences and be enriched by others in the process

ABOUT ME

As I was growing up in Mexico City I used to dream about living in Europe, travelling around the World, speaking foreign languages and having friends form different nationalities. Many times during those years I thought none of those dreams were actually achievable, however, I always kept dreaming those same dreams.

After 10 years of living in Europe, I'm leaving London at the end of September 08 to go travelling through Asia.

My dream is to go from India to Australia without flying.

The first part of the trip will be in India, Nepal, Tibet and hopefully Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Burma (Myanmar), from there I'll be spending some time in Indochina (Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia) and finally down through Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to eventually reach Australia and New Zealand.

Part of my dream is to meet local people from these countries in order to exchange ideas and learn from their cultures. I also want to deepen my pratice of yoga or meditation and would love to do some trekking, scuba diving and new activities as I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to Couch Surfing so haven't had experiences yet, but during my trip to Japan I had the honour to stay in 4 host houses through Servas. From staying in a Kymono shop to a Medical Practice in the middle of the forest, families with little children or older couples with very young hearts, my experience of Japan would definitely not be the same had I not stayed with these generouse people
