My name is Pong, a Junior majoring in International Business at a university in Bangkok, Thailand. Grew up in Finland, currently doing an exchange semester at University of Wisconsin Madison at the School of business.

I'm also a pet-lover who grew up raising Hamsters, Fishes, cats, and of course, Dogs.

I am an open-minded, highly diverse-cultured, super energetic, outgoing extrovert, people and friendship-addict who doesn't really like to sleep too much.

A Global citizen at Heart.

I've been a leader for one of the world's largest global not-for-profit student-run organization that sends university students abroad for a volunteer or internship experience; so they could learn about other cultures and share about theirs: to create a world of understanding and appreciation of differences.

I figured it's about time I do the same for myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard a lot of great things about couch surfing, and I had the chance to attend one of couch surfer's social event in Thailand with a few friends who have been couch surfing and I fell in love with the community right away! People were really fun and open minded, and it was really amazing to see how there were so many different people from all around the world in just one place.

I love meeting new people and I really believe that the best way to learn about a culture and see places is to be with the locals and live like one. For someone who likes to socialize and be around people almost all the time, the quote "Places are only as good as the people you meet in it" really applies to me!

I am also now officially travel during my Spring break, and I am really looking for a host for my stay in DC from 31st of March - 3rd of April 2015 . If this turns out well, I am definitely planning to stay and help out later when I go back home to Bangkok!
