ABOUT ME

I live with my wife, Maj, in Helsingborg, Sweden. She's a preschool teacher and I'm a librarian. I was born in October 1990 and Maj was born in January 1989. We're both open people who like to make new friends, which is why this seemed like the perfect thing for us. I love talking to people about everything there is, and I love hearing other peoples opinions on subjects I myself have strong opinions about. I'm also a major tech freak and a bit of a nerd (some would say more than a bit), which also goes for Maj. I love scientific magazines, history and anything having to do with anything really. I know lots of random useless trivia and I like the saying "knowledge for knowledge's sake". As for the nerd side, I play lots of video games, I play card games, board games - any type of game really.

I am quite lazy and will take the easy way out of something if I find it - I'm also very absent-minded at times, and sometimes I make things more complicated than they need to be. Both me and Maj love to travel and do so whenever we can time get off work. We would love to be host for someone who is travelling and hear about their experience and get inspiration for places to visit (and of course, make some friends on the way!). This is getting rather lengthy and I'm not sure what else to add, so I'll abruptly stop here.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm very easygoing to the point of laziness, and I don't care much about worldly issues. I tend to forget things because I get distracted, and cleaning, sleeping and doing dishes are not a priority for me since I consider it time wasted since I'm not having fun while doing it. Maj is the opposite and loves to keep a tidy home so we balance each other out :) One thing I strongly oppose no matter where is censorship in any form. I feel people should be entitled to say and think whatever they want, and no harm should ever come to anyone just for having a controversial opinion.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the time being we are hosting although it would be great to do some surfing later! There are lots of places we would like to visit and hopefully we could couchsurf our way there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Absolutely no experience at all - we just felt like offering our couch to a traveler so they can save some money while we hopefully make some friends in the process!

I love reading, listening to music and wathcing movies and TV-series, my preferred genres can be found below in the appropriate field.I also play lots and lots of video games, mostly RPGs but I also enjoy platformers, some shooters, and some driving games. Games like the GTA-series are also huge favorites. All of the above are, as you might have noticed, things that you can do at home. And while I am at home, this is mostly what I do. However, I also like visiting interesting places, exploring my surroundings or just generally hanging out with friends. I spend quite a lot of time alone because I like my own company, but I'm also a very social and open-minded person. I love parties and will usually talk to everyone about everything.About talking, that is also something I greatly enjoy. I love sitting down with someone and just talking about everything between heaven and earth. I'm very interested in how other people see the world and feel about things, and how their opinions differ from my own and why.In addition to this, I harbor an ambition to become a writer in some form or another. I find words and the people who have a way with them simply entrancing. I've tried my hand at writing but it always turns out bleh, so I've considered taking a few classes or something to get me started. I love writing and wordsmithing, there's something unexplainable about that moment when you find just the right combination of words to make that exact sentence perfect.

I love movies and will watch just about anything - I'm not very picky and can enjoy a mindless action movie for what it is. Not everything that comes out needs to be a superb film and I can appreciate the "filler films" as well. Of course I greatly enjoy watching excellent movies too, and some of my favorites are Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Donnie Darko, The City of Lost Children, Alien, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Juno, Braindead, Requiem For A Dream and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.TV-series are also a big love of mine as they can be seen as an extremely long movie. Some of my favorite shows include Dexter, Oz, The Walking Dead, The Office, True Blood, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Californication, Riget, Entourage and Jericho.I also listen to music more or less all the time. Boringly enough I listen to just about everything, with a special preference for all forms of metal, reggae and electro. Some of my favorite bands include System of a Down, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Raubtier, Deadmau5, Bob Marley, Svenska Akademien, Kultiration, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, HIM, Infected Mushroom, Disturbed, Alice in Videoland, The 69 Eyes, Viking Skull, CKY and Clutch.I love to read, mostly sci-fi and fantasy but I've known to gobble down anything that interests me. I don't really have a favorite book since I read so much, but Stephen King is probably my favorite author, with Tom Holt, Tolkien and David Eddings coming in close behind.

I don't have any real skills as such...I could probably teach you a board game or two, and maybe show you the basics of juggling. Maj is good at lots more things, from making her own clothes, to her own nails, to great knowledge about environmental issues and all things related to them (she used to work for Greenpeace!).
