That is a bit hard to write about. I guess I am a nice guy that enjoys meeting new people and show them around. I also enjoy licking peoples feet and I do that often to my couchsurfers. They enjoy it veeeery much! They smile, they giggle, they hum with pleasure... The only problem is when they wake up and see me doing it... Usually they are not very happy about it.
Ok, that was not true! The truth is that I get too many couchrequest and that was the only way that I found to filter the people that don't bother reading a persons profile. So if you are thinking about sending me a request please write down your own personal fetishes as well in case you have any. Thank you!
Now back to my real "personal description":
I really don't know who I am...
I'm a portuguese guy living in Barcelona, interested in music, traveling, meeting interesting people with whom I can have interesting conversations. I'm very much into photography and I did a photography course. Also I did a Massage course and I liked it very much. I work as a receptionist in a hostel but I would really love to work with photography or massage or something that allows me to speak several languages, or driving a truck, or travelling, or working with animals, or with people. Or all of those together! =)
I'm on couchsurfing because I like to think that, despite all the flaws of mankind, all the anger, hate and intolerance it might display, all the stupid atrocities it might commit, I will still dare to trust mankind by accepting a person I have never seen before to sleep in my house and eat my food. And thats all. Like I said, I really don't know who I am. I just know I am an human being, full of potential, capable of the greatest achievements, the most amazing deeds, the most wonderful acts ... just like every single person in this planet. And that means you as well.
Oh, and don't forget: I am a Latino!
You have to be careful with latinos...
Be the change you want to see in the world.
The only true happiness is the one that you can share.
A closed mind can only be open from the inside. (I said that one)
Always give a ride when you find someone hitchhiking.
If you see a chance to make someone smile, take it! You never know how much that person needs it.
Antes de pedir ao mundo, dà ao mundo. (It's something like 'before asking for things from the world, give things to the world')
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I like to meet people. Not just people but interesting people. The ones that when they leave you feel they left a bit of themselves behind and took a bit of you with them.
Unfortunately CouchSurfing is becoming more like the perfect place for all the creepy guys everywhere to go and hunt for cute foreigners. I don't think there is something wrong with having a relationship with someone you met on CS (it happened with me as well) but this kind of guys are here JUST for that. They don't care about the cultural interchange or about helping someone with a place to stay. I have met too many girls through CS that told me how they were harassed by their hosts. And hosts that had a lot of positive references.
That really sucks...
I'm interested in meeting people that will teach me something new, that will make me view things from a diferent prespective, and especially, that will be capable of making me question my own beliefs.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an heavy-metal guy but I'm also into, rock, jazz, bossa-nova, blues, almost any type of music as long as it's well played.
Lately it's Coco Rosie, Nina Simone, PJ Harvey, Jeff Buckley, Nick Cave and Nouvelle Vague.
I'm not very good with names of movies or actor or directors but Dogville, Magnolia, The Elephant Man, Seven, The English Patient, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Matrix, Allien, The Shinning, are some of my favourite movies. My favourite actor would be Philip Seymour Hoffman for sure. He is the most versatile actor ever. For directors I think I would go for Paul Thomas Anderson. because I really liked Magnolia, Hard Eight and Boogie Nights.
I haven't read that much but I I really liked Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell, Antonio Lobo Antunes (Auto dos Danados), José Saramago (Ensaio Sobre A Cegueira), Miguel Torga, Fernando Pessoa, Florbela Espanca, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc, etc, etc...
And everything from Calvin&Hobbes and Mafalda :D
