Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend posted this quote from Shirley Maclaine recently, and I think it says alot:

“The more I traveled the more I realized that fear makes strangers of people who should be friends.”

For me, one of the best things about traveling are the friendships I make and being immersed in local life, I enjoy seeing sites, museums etc. but the things I enjoy most are things you only know about if you live in the country.
