I am searching to understand the world one representative at a time. My life philosophy urges me to trust and love as many people as I can with the hopes that such warmth will return to me in another form.

ABOUT ME

I am an artist-turned-academic who loves observing people and asking questions. I adore discussions on world-views, philosophy, politics, relationships, beer, televisions, imperialism, travel experiences, and disaster stories with happy endings. I enjoy experiencing other people's art, whatever form that expression may take. I am vegetarian, but extremely flexible to whatever experiences are offered to me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people all over the world. I have been to 25 countries, but always with my parents or some form of authority (like study abroad). Now I want to go back and sink into the culture itself, and the best way to do that is to talk to those who experience the culture every day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CouchSurfing experience is limited to having a network of friends all over America and some parts of Europe who have graciously allowed me to crash at their homes from time to time. I was homeless for 2 months about 10 years ago and found that a willingness to help clean and straighten while chatting will open all sorts of doors for you. Be honest and trusting, and people will be honest and trusting back.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books include: The Count of Monte Cristo, Vonnegut's Slapstick, Catch-22, 1984 (anything by Orwell), The Handmaiden's Tale, and Wuthering Heights. I also like Dickens, Heinlein, political exposes, anything on early modern Britain, and children's books. I adore Asterix and Tintin. I'm always looking for new books though; have any suggestions?

For Music: U2, Sufjan Stevens, Interpol, Beatles, Robots in Disguise, The Cure, The Organ, Nouvelle Vague, Depeche Mode, The Clash, and Coldplay

I don't watch a lot of television, but I do like: QI, Never mind the Buzzcocks, The Mighty Boosh; Arrested Development, The Simpsons, Project Runway, and Doctor Who.
