I work as a software developer at Intercom in Dublin, and I love what I do. I'm passionate about travelling and meeting new people on the way. I love listening & sharing stories, and hoping that some bonds last longer than a weekend! :-)

On a side note: I'm also here to correct your myths about India, encourage you to travel to India and maybe cook some Indian food for you if you are lucky :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was never into couchsurfing before, until my roommate (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/anirvanmandal) introduced me to it. We have ended up hosting a lot of people over the last few months, and have met some really nice and interesting people on the way! Some who are gonna be my friends for a long time. Hell, two of the most special ones, had no references when Anirvan accepted them, and we became such good friends, that when I was in India, I actually travelled for 10 days together with them, ended up showing them the parts I loved about India, so that they aren't overwhelmed, as it was their first foray into Asia.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm also crazy about movies and a lot of genres at that. Some of my favorites are 12 Angry Men, LOTR, The Usual Suspects, LA Confidential etc

I strongly encourage people to watch movies in a foreign languages - I love City of God, Intouchables (2011), OldBoy, Lives of Others, Rang De Basanti!

I used to be an avid book reader, but lately haven't read so many - LOTR series, Name of the Wind etc. *Makes a mental note to to start reading a lot more again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked on fire! Walked on the edge of a cliff in the midst of darkness (amazing, how you suddenly acquire night vision when your eyes have no choice).

One amazing trip -: Walking for hours in the midst of the night (2-3 a.m.) to our base camp at 15000 ft nestled in the Himalayas. I also did the Tour de Mont Blanc solo which was a tonne of fun.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My indian cooking knowledge, travelling plans for any upcoming trip you have to India, taste in movies/songs, and even my geeky technical knowledge is there for your use :-)

P.S. - I actually helped build site for someone I met via couch surfing, so that she could blog about her trips etc.
