My name is Preeti, I am French with Mauritian origins and I have been living in Thailand for almost 3 years now!

I really love it but sometimes, I feel like travelling to other countries so any opportunity is good to discover a new city or country in Asia for me.

I like simple things such as reading books, sipping coffee in nice places, I am a foodie and very curious person so I am keen on trying new things all the time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I must say I was a bit afraid of trying Couchsurfing at the beginning, I subscribed but never used it.

One of my friend recently convinced me to try again after her amazing experience in Japan. The way she talked about her great time there and all the different persons she met made me want to try and have the same experience.

I love learning new things and I think doing it with people of a different culture than yours is the best.

Interests

I have quite common interests but I have recently discovered a new hobbies which is yoga! I did not expect yoga could actually be a great sport and a way to escape from the craziness of Bangkok.

Travelling is another great interest for me, I am curious about every countries and wish I could see them all one day. As I love eating and cooking, I take a special care on discovering new dishes in each country I visit and trying new tastes.
I travel quite often for work but do not get the chance to visit the countries or meet people so I try my best to travel for leisure.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love cheesy and girly books. One of my favorite writer is Lauren Weisberger, I also really like Sophie Kinsella.
When I choose a book, I usually prefer something light and funny than a serious book, the aim being to think about something and dream a bit of an imaginative life.

About music, I really enjoy electro music and try to participate in some festivals if i can. As I love dancing, I prefer the kind of music that makes you want to dance but I can also listen to slow musics, more peaceful, especially when practicing yoga or meditation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am proud that I managed to live for 3 years far from my family and friends! It was really hard at the beginning as I am really close to my family but with time, I managed to make a new family in Thailand, meeting amazing people that became very good friends.
This is why I always try to meet new people by any way possible. I hope that couchsurfing experience will also help me in that aim, this is why I decided to give it a try.

I am happy to share anything I know as long as I consider having enough knowledge and experience for that.

Always happy to learn new things, from different people, profile, age, origin, background. There is no age to learn new things but giving my young age, I think I think I still have a lot to learn!
