About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To take a pallet called life and paint the world with many colors.

ABOUT ME

I believe that I am an all around respectful, honest and fun-loving guy. I allow others to hold to their beliefs, no matter how different that they are from my own. This has allowed me to become friends with a variety of people. I am a Christian. I try to live the best that I can and exemplify the life that God would want me to live. I am not perfect, but each day strive to get better. I am very achievement oriented, never sitting by and letting the time pass, I enjoy setting out and accomplishing something every day no matter how trivial. I do not smoke or use drugs. I may drink wine at a special occasion, but have never been drunk in my life. I get a little uncomfortable being around people that drink or smoke. Hygiene is important. I'm not Mr. Clean, but I know where the garbage can is and how to tidy up a room and put things back when I'm finished with them. My power goal right now is to eliminate my home mortgage and should have this achieved sometime next year. I like cartoons and enjoy entertaining guests at the resort which I work at, with a variety of voices in good humor. I am usually easygoing. When I set my mind to do something, I can be very analytical and meticulous. I do not like phones and much rather see someone in person. I created an amazing "toy" bank and have high hopes to get the concept into the hands of someone with resources to take it from idea to action.

PHILOSOPHY

Success in life doesn't always mean the biggest salary, fanciest car or most glamourus home. Success is being able to wake up each day, knowing that God has a reason for you to be here, then going out and doing the very best that you can. It will not always be perfect in this life, sometimes some storms will blow into your life, but as they say.. after the storm comes the rainbow. I strive to keep a positive attitude as much as possible in every situation.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started... I'll need to take into consideration my 3 year old Chihuahua named Chi Chi, before doing much surfing. I am hopeful that some homes may even allow for a small travel companion animal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once was part of a team that went to Kinston, North Carolina to help with Hurricane Floyd clean up efforts. We were housed in an old section of a hospital. We pulled items from water-damaged homes, met with residents that had lost nearly everything. It was a sad situation. Writing this now, is bringing back a flood of memories. Hearing their stories, seeing damaged family photographs and the looks on their faces was life altering. Sometimes we take for granted what we have. We need to have greater appreciation for the things that we do have in this life. It may not always be the most extravagant, but realizing that in the case with the people of North Carolina that year.. some lost everything in that tragedy. A quest for material goods can set a person at ground zero. One day, one event could make all that a person toiled so hard for disappear. Just like that. It makes you want to rethink what a person really needs to be successful in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am really good at writing and public speaking.
In high school, I developed a highly sensory study system including a simple step by step process that involves, sight, speech, sound and touch which helped me in optimum memory retention for tests and presentations. I would be happy to share this process.
