About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My husband and I recently decided to move from CA to PA -- but before doing so, we took a few months to travel the world.

ABOUT ME

My husband Peter and I are spending six months traveling the world. We started off in Iceland (we bought our tickets right before the volcano erupted!), then spent two weeks volunteering on a French dairy farm (we milked the goats) before heading to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia where we spent three weeks biking through the countryside. Our next stops are Helsinki, St. Petersburg, Moscow, and then the Trans Siberian railroad to Beijing (stopping at Lake Baikal and in Mongolia along the way). After that? We're not really sure.

PHILOSOPHY

To enjoy life to its fullest.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, we can't offer a place for others to surf because we don't have a home! (I suppose if you wanted to crash in the storage unit where all of our stuff is, you could try, but it's pretty full.) In the future, though, we hope to have a couch available in Philadelphia or New York.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We both come from families that are eager to invite people into their homes (my family is particularly fond of home exchanges, where you swap places with a stranger for a few weeks), but we are couch surfing newbies.

Interests

We both value experiences over possessions, and particuarly love food -- we've been trying to treat ourselves to a special dinner once in each country we've visited. We also love being outdoors and exercising (biking = a great way to counterbalance Baltic cuisine).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering on the french dairy farm was pretty amazing -- we were adopted into the family and spent two weeks immersed in their lives. I was sad to leave.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm. I'm pretty good with Latin grammar. Peter's good at biking with no hands. We both are interested in learning how to cook local foods.
