About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting ready to head to Shanghai for two years in July, 2015.
ABOUT ME
All about me....?
Well I'm a big music fan. Lately I've been listening to Bon Iver, The Grates and Silversun Pickups but Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and Sigur Ros always feature heavily on my playlists. Movies too. I love Wes Anderson, the Spike Jonze/Michele Gondry- Charlie Kaufman combo, PT Anderson, Clint Eastwood and more.
I'm currently teaching Chemistry and Science at a high school in Melbourne.
I travelled Europe and America for 8 months in 2006, then worked for a year to save the money to come back again. I spent two months at the start of last year in Europe and the second half in Toronto working a couple of different jobs.
I'm always keen to meet new people especially if those people know where the beer is.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep an open mind. I don't know everything and I never will so I'm always happy to be proven wrong.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Nick was the first guy that I couch surfed with and he was really good at getting me along to different functions like bbqs etc. I hosted a couple of cool people when I was in my own flat in Eaglemont but since I've been sharehousing I haven't really had the chance to host again. When I move to Shanghai I'll have my own place though so Hotel de Scholtesy will reopen its doors.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfed for a few days with Nick. Been to the odd function and spent a few days in Montreal with Xavier and the gang. I hosted a couple of travelers from Germany and the US and gave them a tour of Melbourne and Bendigo.
Interests
Movies, music, adventures, anyone who can make me laugh, keeping fit, meeting new people, learning French.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies- The Life Aquatic, Million Dollar Baby, This is Spinal Tap, 2001: A Space Odessy, Brokeback Mountain
Music- Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Sigur Ros, and countless Aussie bands
Books- The Plague (Albert Camus), The Road (Cormac McCarthy), So Long and Thanks For All the Fish (Douglas Adams), 1984 (George Orwell), Hannibal (Thomas Harris), Fly Away Peter (David Malouf)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm still working on doing something amazing.
I've seen plenty of things that have made me sit back and think 'Damn the world is a beautiful place' but they're not all that interesting to people who weren't there.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure what this one is about but I guess I'm a bit of an expert on Australia. I know a little bit about science and a fair bit of movie trivia.
I'm really keen to improve my French and get a feel for the culture that extends past eating chocolate bread for breakfast. I'd love it if someone could maybe not teach me something but give me a different perspective on something I already know.
