What I love about traveling is that I don't only get to look beyond my physical horizon and see more of this beautiful, diverse planet but it also gives me the chance to get to know new cultures and to learn from different perspectives, thereby widening my mental horizon. But what always made my trips truly unique and meaningful were all the interesting, inspiring and beautiful people I was privileged to meet. That's why I support the concept of couchsurfing: it enables this valuable intercultural/personal exchange between traveler and hosts and facilitates an authentically getting-to-know of an unknown place through the perspective of a local.

Furthermore I always try to be open-minded and curious about new surroundings and about what other people think and have to tell. I believe that there is always something you can learn from every person you meet along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My brother told me about couchsurfing and I immediatley liked the idea of sharing different homes, cultures, experiences and community all over the world. I once spent a year as a high school student in the US and this intercultural exchange turned out to be one of my best experiences ever. I am so grateful for all the welcoming people I met that became friends for life and things I could learn that widened my horizon. And with couchsurfing I hope I can help to create again such an enriching intercultural exchange for and with others.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to get to know different time periods and places through reading books or watching movies, that is why I especially enjoy historical novels/movies or biographies. In terms of movies I also like when they have a twist in it that blows your mind.
