Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I took two solo trips around the world with just my backpack in my 20s, making friends and sharing stories in many countries. After that, I eventually got married and raised a daughter who is now a college student.

I love meeting people and getting a sense of a place from the perspective of someone who lives there, and I hate being surrounded by tourists who are busy taking boring pictures to show their friends and are uninterested in what life is like in the place they are visiting.

My motto is "Get to know me, and something will happen." I look forward to making new friends through couchsurfing!

MUSIC: I like lots of different music but listen to a lot of Tom Petty, Talking Heads, Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, Wilco, Dire Straits, Flaming Lips, and Jayhawks.

MOVIES: I love going to the movie theater and am a particularly big fan of The Sting, Diner, House of Games, In Bruges, and Four Weddings and a Funeral.

BOOKS: Lots of random stuff, most notably David Halberstam, Scott Turow, Jonathan Franzen, Richard Ford, Roger Angell, Octavia Butler, and Barbara Kingsolver
