About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding meaningfulness, as always.

ABOUT ME

I lead a relatively simple life, and take the greatest pleasure in small things: a beautiful location, a sunny day, a great party, a good book, good music, good company, fun times.

I don't have many material possessions, and I travel light. I prefer memories to photographs.

PHILOSOPHY

I suppose my personal philosophy is to pursue my mission, unending: finding meaningful friendships, ideas, and experiences. I generally have little care for money or objects beyond their ability to contribute to this project (sometimes, this means I can be a bit irresponsible and impractical).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not yet participated much in the CS project, but I am looking forward to meeting many wonderful people! All the couchsurfers I know are great folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just recently set up my own couchsurfing account; previously I have always set up connections through other people. I am very excited to be my own representative now!

My only couchsurfing experience so far was in Nevada, where I went to canvas for the Obama campaign during the 2008 election. This was an amazing experience.

I have hung out with couchsurfers who were hosted by friends of mine, in New York and San Francisco: always good times!

Interests

Matters scientific, matters artistic, writing, day time frolics, night time frenzies, being rational and irrational, beings rational and irrational.

I am also an avid musician (right now just for fun): lately I have been on a singer/songwriter kick, but I have also been in several bands and worked on producing hip-hop and electronic tracks. I am always looking to meet up with other musicians; if you are in town and want to go see a show or play a little bit let me know!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most movies, books, and music that are either great or terrible. Lately, I have been watching a lot of samurai movies, listening to some upbeat electro and poppy indie rock given to me by friends, and reading Joyce.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend and I (mostly my friend, to be honest) started a giant snowball fight in Washington DC via twitter that ultimately made national and international news. A police officer drew a gun after his hummer was hit by a snowball, which lead to a tense standoff with the crowd (who ultimately prevailed!) It included shoddy coverage by several news outlets, including CNN, which was ultimately discredited. Not bad work for two guys staying up all night at the computer.
