About Me

I had a successful massage therapy practice for 10 years and now I have decided to go back to school to switch things up. I just graduated with my Associate of Arts in Geography and am now getting my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Geography. My dream job is to work outside and work with in the science field.
I grew up in a very small town called Lincoln, Vermont, where my folks still live. I was blessed to live in the county, surrounded by meadows and wonderful mother nature all around.
As I stated, I love to be outdoors. I enjoy hiking, trail running, bird watching, gardening, jumping in the water, and eating/cooking good wholsome food.
I used to be on Couchsurfing years ago but I forgot my old password for my old email, so I just created a new one. I did get married too, so my last name is different now.
My husband and I love to travel and we are both certified in Scuba Diving. Diving is sooo magical and exciting!
If you would like to know more, just ask me :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to re-connect with my fellow surfers. As I stated, I used to Couchsurf years ago but I faded away, but now I'm back! ALL the hosts I have had were AMAZING and it warms my heart to know that there are still genuine/kind people in the world. I love meeting people and traveling and Couchsurfing is all about that!

Interests

I love to try new things! For example, I have tried skydiving, tandem base jumping, and bungy jumping ;) I've also tried fried cricket, fried tarantula, and other cool and interesting things.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music I like about everything, I just have to be in the mood for it. I love dubstep, classic rock, jazz, classical, hip hop, rap, folk, rock n' roll, indie, the list goes on... Movies... we don't own a TV but when we do watch movies it's normally documentaries on Netflix or on our Amazon Prime account. Books! I love to learn new things and for the most part, when I make time to read (wish I had more time), I read educational books. For example, I just read "Getting Past Your Past" by Francine Shapiro, it's about Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), very interesting stuff. In the future, I will open my realm to more diverse reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh geeze... I'm super blessed, so this section is hard for me!
My husband and I volunteered to clean up Hui Aloha Kiholo State Park Reserve in Kamuela on the Big Island. After our hard work of removing vegetation, sticks, and rocks from freshwater pools to help bring back the ʻō paeʻ ula (endemic shrimp), we were invited to the Makahiki games (the Olympic games from the Hawaiian's). Men and women participated and John (my husband) and I were the only two non-Hawaiian's participating, it was awesome! We really got immersed into the Hawaiian culture and we made friends very fast. It's these moments that make traveling worthwhile :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Through each of our experiences we grow and I am growing all the time. Couchsurfing is a great way to teach, learn, and share because it brings together community and culture. I believe that we all have certain similarities but at the same time we each are so individually different. Let's all teach each other something, learn from one another, and share our experiences and wisdom.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My positive attitude and energy! We all need that! What's mine is yours. I can share my respect with hosts and get back the same. I'm excited to meet more hosts too! Let the community begin!
