About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Have fun. Learn. Keep things in perspective. Stay optimistic, enthusiastic and active.
ABOUT ME
I am about to start traveling over the New Zealand summer holidays with two friends to Central and South America. Initially I was going to keep my return date open but now I have to come back for a job -but atleast I'll have a couch on which to host others! I lived in France for a year during my final year at high school and travelled around Switzerland, Italy and England before coming home. Otherwise, I've just been doing the student thing these past few years. I will complete my degree in Anthropolgy and Politics next year and I'm looking forward to contemplating my next move...!
PHILOSOPHY
Hmmm..I'm still trying to figure that one out. Generally, I am kind and try to be understanding and make life a pleasant experience for others. Sometimes I seem to live my life with the sole ambition to have fun, other times I want to make a difference and I am pretty ambitious - if not unrealistically so.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be respectful and grateful to anyone who is able to host us - or meet us for coffee. And I have every intention of returning the favour when I get back to Dunedin.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't been an official couch surfer but I definitely stayed on some couches in Europe and gave several travellers my address in case they were travelling in NZ at any stage. We had two Californian boys on our couch for three months and a french man for a couple of weeks in our already-crowded flat this year. And we miss them!
Interests
Traveling! Theatre, music (I have played the sax and I have been intending to learn the guitar for years now), socialising...

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - All About my Mother by Pedro Amoldovar and Dogville by Lars Von Trier would have to be my two favourite films.
Books - The Magus by John Fowles, Love in the Age of Cholera by Gael Garcia Marquez, Tell Me No Lies by John Pilger
Music - Mainly NZ stuff; Sola Rosa, Nathan Haines etc but I love all sorts of stuff - dub, reggae, jazz, drum and bass...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably going to France for an excange. It definitely had its ups and downs but I think it was pretty brave for a 17 year old to jump on a plane with a return ticket in a year. I think this trip showed me that the most incredible experiences weren't the obvious ones - climbing the Eiffel Tower etc - but the feeling of making true friends on the other side of the world and feeling like you might acually be missed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am traveling to learn. Sometimes I get a bit dispondent about university and Dunedin can become a bit stagnant so I am hoping that my travels will shake me up a bit! Hopefully I will be full of energy and life by the time I meet you .
