About Me

CURRENT MISSION

turning changes into chances

ABOUT ME

I'm definitely a daydreamer with a sense of reality! Volunteering since ever...

PHILOSOPHY

Boundaries don't keep other people out, they just fence you in...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As Joey in Friends put it, "it is a love based on giving and receiving as well as having and sharing. And the love that they give and have is shared and received. And through this having and giving and sharing and receiving, we too can share and love and have... and receive." :))
And since sharing makes you a better person, let's all get better at being better people!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Great experience hosting people in the flat I used to share with my friends (check out Tímea Ferencz' profile for references), as well as with my current flatmate (Liana Vagai).
I've hardly couchsurfed up to now - that is, if you don't count staying over on my friends' couches just because comfortable is wherever you're in good company. I only couchsurfed in Prague and Dresden on a roadtrip to Berlin, which was an amazing experience.

Interests

MUSIC - I recently had a one-time DJ-ing experience in an indie club with a warm-up based on soundtracks from the movies made by Tarantino. I'm always eager to discover new tracks, which I will probably find myself listening obsessively.
PHOTOGRAPHY - I'm mostly interested in portraits, b&w photography and food photography. I got to shoot some pictures on a Social Cooking course and plan to continue experimenting...
MOVIES - I've been volunteering in the Transylvania International Film Festival for the past 5 years and am interested in independent movies and documentaries.
COOKING - I cook with vain and wine! Great fun discovering new recipes or just improvising, be it Asian fusion, French or Italian cuisine, soups and veggies. I'm interested in learning every possible new trick and am thinking about opening my own place one day.
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES (open-pit mining with cyanide, fracking etc.) - I volunteered as an interpreter in several conferences in Rosia Montana and am very much concerned about this topic.
CROWDFUNDING - I wrote my thesis on crowdfunding for Cultural Projects and am interested in other people's experience in the field.
LANGUAGES AND CULTURES
POLITICS
EDUCATION - I worked as a counselor, advising students on studying abroad opportunities, as well as a university teaching assistant. I'm currently helping people learn German.
MEDIA AND ADVERTISING
TRAVELLING - I like to discover new towns and places, which are not necessarily listed as tourist attractions.

Some of my favourite movies are: Big Fish, Biutiful, Incendies, Les Chansons d'amour, Shortbus, The Shawshank Redemption, In Bruges... and, of course Lesbian Vampire Killers :))
