ABOUT ME

Hey, my name is Kawaipuna Līhau Hiʻilani Kalipi or Puna for short. I grew up on a small island called Molokai in Hawaii. Iʻm native Hawaiian and I absolutely love my Hawaiian culture and language. Along with being ethnic Hawaiian Iʻm Scottish, English, Irish, German, Okinawan and Chamorro.

I go to the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and Iʻm trying to get my bachelors in Hawaiian Studies and Psychology

Most of the time my mom is here, but she tries to fly home (Molokaʻi) as much as she can. Sheʻs really an amazing person and one of my core inspirations for everything that I do.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in humanity. Everyone has a different story and no matter the circumstance, judgement is never the answer. I believe that "it doesnʻt matter which religion you might follow, nor does it matter whether or not you believe in God. What matters is what you do, not what you believe."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch is available for the summer and then Iʻll be off to Study Abroad in Norwich, England.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From Hong Kong to Finland to the UK to Aotearoa to Oregon to Israel couchsurfers never cease to amaze me. Each experience has been unique and all around fun. Canʻt wait for more!

Iʻve never been a guest yet but I canʻt wait to try it out!

My passion for life comes from the support of my awesome family and friends. I absolutely love the ocean, the sand, the sun, the rain, the mountains, and anything to do with nature and the adventures that come with it.

I love music. period. I love books that pull you so deep into the story that you feel a personal connection with the characters. I donʻt care what anyone says, Harry Potter is one of my best friends and Sherlock Holmes is real :P

Iʻve swam in the open ocean along side dolphins, turtles and a shark (all at different times unintentionally).
