I get a buzz out meeting people from overseas.
I first tried couch-surfing in Rio, Brazil and I've hosted a few people in Wellington, NZ.

A German couch-surfer and I participated in a flash mob dance in Wellington's Cuba Street 2 years ago.
Even stranger for me - I was the organiser. :P
