Overview
About Me
Like everyone here I love to travel and meet interesting people :) I am a special education teacher working with children who have a difficult time learning in traditional ways. I guess I've always had a soft spot for the underdog, but I believe in hard work and not making excuses. Although I haven't traveled enough within the US, I take every opportunity to explore, even if it's just to see a town nearby or check out a store I've never been to. Anything new is fun! When I'm not working during the months of July and August I try to see other parts of the world. So far Morocco was my favorite because it is so different than what I'm used to. I consider myself to be an intelligent and open-minded person. I don't excel at any one hobby, but like to do a little bit of many things. I appreciate nature and try to keep myself centered by noticing beauty in the simple things. I love to cook and eat. I love the beach. I love hiking.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've never actually done it yet, but it's a unique way to make new connections, see things from a local perspective, get real stories and histories beyond a guide book or website. I've made some great connections through my travels; I figure this is basically the same thing as meeting my fellow travelers on the road but they happen to be on their home turf at the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books
Such a difficult question for me. I know what I like but I don't know how to describe it. And it's very difficult to choose a favorite. I like things of quality and substance produced by people with talent, not overly commercialized garbage.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding a camel into the Sahara Desert and sleeping outside under the Milky Way was pretty cool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn! Every new experience teaches me something. I hope to learn some of your language, your views and perspectives. I'm a humble person, so I'm not sure what I could teach you, but hopefully you come away having learned something after meeting me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Time, friendship, stories, a nice meal, a pint.
