ABOUT ME

After 6 months travelling around parts of the world I'm finally home and will be looking to host again.

Basically I have a big heart, an open mind, I want to learn, I want to know about the world. I believe in the general good in people. I believe in being a good person. I want people to be happy.

I'm really talkative and passionate about my thoughts and feelings and interests, I can sometimes be shy or quiet - don't take that as a bad thing. I love to meet people and love my friends, truly, deeply, madly (intentionally not with the middle on the end). I'd love to meet more people because, well, why not?

I'm told I have a bizaire sense of humour because I hardly ever find "typically funny" movies/TV/Comedians funny but all of my friends can make me laugh constantly, and I laugh at myself all the time.

I love random acts of socialness, and I get excited about my favourite TV show DVD marathons, midnight hot chocolates, reading books in the sun or bowling or - other geeky things.

I'm creative , I used to be forever covered in paint and painting or writing, writing, writing but I'm taking a break to be sensible and organised - ha, ha!
I still paint regularly and write when I'm inspired.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in Karma. It's logic.
If you surround yourself in good people you're more likely to do good things and have good things done to/for you. If you surround yourself in bad people bad things are more likely to be done to you.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have been hosting people for years and people have been doing the same for me - without even realising it. In fact, recently I mentioned to close friends I thought it'd be a fantastic idea to create something like this, only to discover - it already exists!

I host as many people as I can, I don't like to say no to people because I've had so many wonderful experiences and met so many lovely people who I believe I'll be friends with for a long time because of Couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have had many wonderful people stay so far through Couchsurfing.

Before I came to Couchsurfing:

A few years ago my mother was coming back from a business trip, when I collected her at the airport she met a lovely German couple on the plane who were asking her for directions, they ended up staying at my house off and on for about 3 months.
When I was in America I was a bit of a lost soul after my heart was broken, 2 families took me in and were very lovely to me.

Anything artistic - love painting, writing, poetry, reading, watching plays.
Really love dining out, watching movies, spending time with friends.
I love listening to music, going to see live performances: plays, bands, anything. And I'm constantly at gigs.
I'm really into writing; poetry and boooooks, etc.
Spending time with friends, either seeing a concert, having a girlie night, etc!

I listen to lots of female musicians, country, folk, indie, etc. Good lyrics, strong woman, big opinions, love songs...they all pave the way to my heart.

I read all the time, anytime but I don't fall in love with everything. Books:

Alice Sebold - The Lovely Bones, Wally Lamb - She's Come Undone, Douglas Coupland - Miss. Wyoming,
Jeanette Winterson - (pretty all of her stuff) The Time Travelers Wife, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime, Iris & Ruby, etc, etc.
Love Jeanette Winterson, Margaret Atwood, and many more.
Love watching movies, love to snuggle up with a blanket and some popcorn and watch movies all night. I'm not a big comedy fan, but my friends make me laugh all the time. Movies with a twist are great, Mostly I like movies people frown through: Shawshank Redemption, Momento, Cabin Fever, The Royal Tenenbaums, Dancer in the Dark, All the Real Girls, Ghost World, Juno.
