About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To conquor the universe, one syllable at a time... or at least have some danishes and tea before noon.
ABOUT ME
I am an Austinite through and through. Laid back, adventurous, open minded, politically aware, creative, tattooed, pierced. I love having philosophical discussions but don't like arguing about them. Most of these conversations end in "fuck it" or "what does it really matter anyway".
I'm madly in love with life and don't want to waste time trying to convince people of anything. I've spent enough time thinking over things and observing reality to not worry about the opinions of others.
I do my own thing. I appreciate it when others do the same. I treasure human contact and honest interaction. I don't care what people believe as long as they are genuinely good people.
I am a Buddhist but I am also borderline atheist (in that I don't believe in any kind of deity or creator god or force that exists outside of time or space). Talking about "god" with me will get you nowhere.
Very little shocks me. I've been involved in a lot of different scenes in a lot of different places. Most of my life I've been involved in what most people would consider subcultures or counter-cultures of American society. I don't find these labels particularly meaningful but thought I'd throw it out there to give people an idea of what I'm not (what I AM is a much more difficult question).
PHILOSOPHY
Can't really be summed up but is probably something that might be said by Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, The Dalai Lama, William Gibson, Tom Waits, Buffy, Naomi Klein, Starbuck, Han Solo, Richard Dawkins, and The Doctor, if they were trapped in a time lock together and forced to watch passively as the human race dumbed itself down into oblivion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted some folks in Japan. They were rad. I'm back in the States and would love to meet some travelers but unfortunately don't have a couch to offer at the moment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far quite good! I have had a few sets of people stay here (all couples) and we had a great time. everyone has been really cool.
