ABOUT ME

My name is Rachel and I've been a nurse for 2 years now. After I graduated from nursing school in Denver, I moved to Asheville, NC to work on a cardiac step-down unit. Asheville was a fun place to live but I eventually got the travel itch and decided to start travel nursing. My first assignment was in Lubbock, TX (worst place ever!!). I was luckily just there for a couple of months and the experience confirmed my opinion that Texas is not the place for me. After that, I spent a week in South Korea and 3 weeks in Japan to visit my boyfriend. I just spent the summer living/working in Santa Rosa, CA and had a great time. While I absolutely LOVE traveling, I hate packing/moving. I officially moved back to Denver and I'm just starting to settle back in.

PHILOSOPHY

I absolutely love my life! I'm in a profession I'm really passionate about and have a wonderfully supportive family and friends. I can't help but be happy :)

I love outdoor activities! On my time off, I ride my bike, swim/lay by the pool, hike, etc. I also enjoy going to the movies, eating at delicious restaurants, cooking, reading, and listening to fabulous music.

Books: East of Eden, Farewell to Arms, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, A Heart Breaking Work of Staggering Genius, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, David Sedaris's books, and many more.

I mostly listen to indie music (but I'm not a music snob).

I was in a Japanese national parade back in May. We were also interviewed by 2 different reporters.

I obviously have a significant background in nursing so there's that. I also am really interested in nutrition/healthy lifestyles.

I find other cultures extremely interesting. I've been lucky enough to meet many people from other areas but want to continue to meet great new people!
