ABOUT ME

Experts on Latin America, esp. Brazil and would love hosting people from there or sharing this love. Books and music are important! Partying is cool once in a while but am a bit past the stage of the "Erasmus style" -- meeting very many new people on very shallow ground -- but long evenings with tea/wine/caipirinha and talk about the world are very welcome!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to learn, forever. I love the world and try to give my best to show the possibility of enjoying the differences to anybody interested.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Both surfing and hosting. Always ready to also just go out for cup of tea or a beer and give tips of a local.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had a great experience in Colombia and Venezuela surfing couches of great people, now we are ready to answer with the same :)

Intereses

Mele: I am a book person -- what else better to do during long cold winter evenings than read good books and watch good films. In music and films I prefer indie. I love chess -- please come and play with me!
Kristjan: Music (both making and listening) are the most important!

Música, películas y libros

Uh, many! I love to read fiction (and non-fiction too, actually) by the authors from places I am travelling to. Lately have liked a lot: Roberto Bolano (Mexico), Andrei Ivanov (Estonia), Gioconda Belli (Nicaragua).

Music: lots of Brazilians I enjoy a lot -- Caetano, Jorge Ben, Os Mutantes. But Estonian indie is also very-very good!

Algo increíble que he hecho

Entering a huge mudbath in northern Colombia on the last day of the year -- basically a lake full of thick mud -- where it is probably possible to lose things and people forever...

I can infinitely talk about different Latin American countries, their history, society, culture, books -- just come and listen or share and argue ;)
