I love the north and the north loves me! I don't mind the cold one bit. In fact, I prefer it over a hot, humid summer day.

"I'm just a bum with a decent credit score", is usually what I say when people come to me wanting advice on how to repair their credit. That is just one of my "hidden" nerdy traits. I'm just a chill dude living it up on the NW side of Chicago. If you were to ask some of my friends (Of my choosing of course, so I can tell them what to say) what 4 words would they would use to describe me. They would probably say, Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, and Intelligence.

I am honest because that is how my dad raised me. He always said, "A man's word is his bond." I still believe this. If someone is caught lying, it can take a lifetime to rebuild that trust.

Integrity is the word of the day. There are so many people out there who carry themselves with no integrity. It really disgusts me. I try not to interrupt anyone, I never put anyone down (I really hate that), and I just conduct myself on a higher level than the general population. If more people acted this way, Chicago would be a much happier city!

Do you have friends that you have known for over 10 years? I do. I remain loyal to the people I trust. No sellin out over here. Awhile back I had some financial troubles and had some friends help me out with some money. Every one of them was paid back in full. If one of my friends is going through some problems, I am there to help them all the way through it.

When my friends want another person's opinion on something, they often look to me for advice. When I ask why everyone always asks me for solutions for all their problems, they say because I am very smart. I have an innovative way of thinking and processing information. Just a quick fact that I LOVE bragging about. . . . . . I installed a 14.4k bps modem in my mom's computer when I was in 4th grade, AND I built my own computer when I was in 6th grade.

There are lots of other things that describe me but I guess you'll have to meet me to find out what they are.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I don't have many/any friends that are able to travel so I end up choosing between traveling alone (Which can be fun) or not traveling at all. This project gives me the opportunity to travel alone AND travel with company!

I have been a member of couchsurfing.com since 2011, but I have not been active until the beginning of 2015. I am working on getting my apartment in order so that I am able to host people and am very excited about it!

Intereses

I love traveling to new places. So far I am trying to conquer the U.S. before I move on to the expensive world of international traveling. One of my favorite places to go is the upper peninsula of Michigan. Its beauty is unimaginable.

I play poker. Used to play a lot more, but hey, when you get a girlfriend your priorities change.

I love video games. Diablo III, Combat arms, and League of Legends are the ones I currently am playing.

Board games are a dying breed. It is super fun and easy to get to know someone over an extremely competitive, out for blood, game of Monopoly! I have been known to try to play for money.

I just got back in to Magic the Gathering. If you have any clue what that is then we should get along just fine.

I am a founding member of a tenant organizing group called We are/Somos Logan Square. We formed after a ridiculously rich landlord named Mark Fishman began mass evictions in my NW side neighborhood. His plan was to do some quick upgrades and double the rent. We were able to force him to negotiate with us by exercising our rights as tenants.We fight for better living conditions and to stop the spread of gentrification across Chicago. Rents have almost doubled in the last 10 years. Our organization is growing in numbers and is really having an impact on the lives of the people that we are helping. It is great to be able to help people the way I do!

As odd as it may sound I am a pro at repairing credit. In the last several months I brought my credit score up to a 695 from a 524! Still more work needs to be done though...

I had a girl ask me the other day, "Is there anything you don't do?" Technically there is, but I am a big bundle of knowledge about everything. Fixing cars, playing Magic the Gathering, cooking, a little bit of sewing, landscaping, etc. Then there's all the stuff I know that is useless, such as Star Wars and Star Trek facts, World War II facts, how to take a shower with 1 gallon of water, and a bunch of other random stuff that really has no value except to impress people through conversation.

I am a poker player but I gave up on trying to teach people how to play.
