I am Quélia, I was born and raised in beautiful, sunny Portugal. I always had the urge to travel and see different places, so after I finished university I moved out of my home country and for the past 14 years I have been living in different places and travelling whenever I can. Five years ago I moved to Berlin in Germany, where I met my now husband and, for the time being, this is the place we call home.
I'm an adventurous, open-minded and friendly person, in love with life and our world :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I like to meet people from different backgrounds, share ideas and experiences. I used CS while I was travelling in Europe, Thailand and Morocco and mostly had a great time and met very nice people. I also hosted when I was living in Barcelona and always had good experiences.

Interests

As you might have guessed by now, I love travelling and I'm fascinated by other cultures and learning about their habits. If I had to choose my favourite country to visit (so far) I would say India, but I loved all of them :)

Yoga is another one of my passions, I have been practising regularly for the past 3 years.

And I love food: cooking it, eating it, anything to do with it!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love good cinema, anything that inspires me and makes me think or makes me feel something, even if it's sad. Some of my favourite directors are Alejandro Iñaritu, Asghar Farhadi and Wes Anderson.

When I was young I used to read so much that I would finish a book in one day! Nowadays, since the internet came along I've been a bit more lazy towards it, but it's still one of my passions. Some of my favourite books are The God of small things, Lord of the Flies and Shantaram.

Music makes my life a thousand times more enjoyable and I like too many types of music, way too many to fit in here without sounding boring, but some of my favourites are the rock from the 70's (Beatles, Doors, Pink Floyd etc...), world music and some types of electronic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked 950 km from France to Galicia in Spain, on the Camino de Santiago. It took me 35 days to complete and it was one of the best experiences I ever had!

I can cook something from my home country and I can give travel advice about the places I've been :)
