Resumen
Sobre mí
Hi, I’m Quiana — a multi-passionate, multi-ethnic, Afro-Latina global soul with roots that span continents. I am an award winning grass roots community builder and I advocate for disadvantaged communities on global forums as a public speaker (especially within the realm of AI ethics, responsibility, and sustainability. I am born, have family and roots in the global city of NYC but am fully nomadic now.
I come from Afro-Latinx heritage (Peruvian, Indigenous, and African ancestry), with family whispers of Spanish royalty somewhere in the mix. My journey has always been about connecting the dots of who I am, and now I’m taking that search back to the motherland.
Life threw me a curveball a few years ago when I had an accident that dramatically paused my travels. Since then, I’ve took time to grieve, heal and overall realize just how precious our time is on the planent. I take no day for granted. This new chapter is about redemption, healing, and reconnection. I’m a former competitive gymnast and judo athlete turned corporate professional, but right now I’m on a career sabbatical — trading boardrooms for border crossings, and burnout for belonging.
As a community builder: I lead a growing network of BIPOC and Latinx tech professionals and digital nomads across the African diaspora. Most of my life I’ve poured into others, creating spaces of safety, growth, and connection. On this journey, I’m opening myself to being poured into — by locals, by new friends, and by the stories waiting for me.
As a guest, I bring gratitude, respect, and a spirit of service. I’d love to share laughs, cook together, swap travel tales, or just see your city through your perspective.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe travel is about people, not just places. Hotels can give you a bed, but Couchsurfing gives you a story, a connection, and a way to see a city through a local’s heart.
After major life changes, I promised myself that when I returned to the road, I’d do it with more intention. This trip is my chance to reclaim my roots, explore my Afro-Latinx and African heritage, and document stories across the diaspora so others can be inspired to reconnect, too.
As a solo female traveler, safety and community are very important to me — and Couchsurfing is where both come alive. I’ve spent years building community for others (tech professionals, digital nomads, and the African/Latinx diaspora), and now I’m grateful for the chance to receive that same spirit of generosity as I wander.
I’m here to learn, to share, and to build friendships that last long after the trip ends.
