About Me

ABOUT ME

Jewish farmers, Rae Bird and Quincy Daniel OrHai raised and homeschooled four children on their goat farm. They are both self employed and work a lot, both on and off the farm. Their life is all about animals, personal freedom and responsibility, and outdoor living. They enjoy a very high degree of privacy, and are not into social and personal drama. We believe in peace, happiness, good health, harmony, love, joy and freedom. Rae is a yogini, and Quincy is a meditator.

Interests

We are into being present with whatever we are doing. We are not into partying, drugs or alcohol. We are focused on living our lives in a fun, playful spiritual fashion, paying careful attention to Rule 62 (google it if you don't get it). We don't work on the Sabbath. We are not strictly kosher, but are generally aiming that way. We have a lot of animals - goats especially, but a horse, a donkey, a dog (really a puppy) and cats. We live at the end of the road at 5000 feet elevation, 4 mile east of Bozeman, Montana, surrounded by fir and aspen trees and relative solitude. There is a lot of wildlife here, and we allow some limited hunting. We are into shooting, but bring you own ammunition. We are generally not impressed with collectivist city people that want to hurry up and get this good time over with, or who think that country folks are some kind of dummies because we are not into fancy cars, clothes, music or collectivist delusions. We are well on our way to being recovered from liberal politics, and don't really want to argue about politics at all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every morning sunrise, every Montana sunset leaves us awestruck.
We have mid-wived and bottle fed hundreds of baby goats into this world, and we have slaughtered our own meat, raised our own food, and minded our own business for over 36 years together. Almost every day we see wildlife like elk, deer, bears and eagles, as well as songbirds, chipmunks and magpies.
We say, if you can't improve upon the silence - don't try.
