HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel a lot for work so I'm not able to host as much as I once was, but I like to meet new people while \I am travelling and love getting to know new paces from the perspectives of the locals or even meeting new people and helping them explore and seeing things from a fresh perspective.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started out Couch Surfing in Kelowna BC and had a blast, so when I came home I decided to host some people.
I had my first experience staying the the "Bates Motel" in Kelowna this previous winter for a snowboarding trip that was 10 days long. I was shown around by a few of the locals, and saw some very interesting things along the way I'm confident I would never have found as a tourist. I was shown around a new part of the world by locals who were very friendly and knowledgeable. Part way into the trip some family came up to stay with us in a hotel. I saw the contrast between the family tourism and couch-surfing way of travel. I was hooked.

Since I've hosted a handful of couch surfers who have all had something new to offer and are generally always up for a good time or very open to trying and seeing new things. It's great because it allows you appreciate and realize what you have around you from a new perspective.

Flying, Snowboarding, Hiking, Random Adventures to everywhere. passionate about snowboarding and would love to live on the hill all winter. New at scuba and sky diving and that’s opened up two whole new worlds for me.

Music: strong preference to classic rock. Also appreciate Rock, alternative, some indie, occasional electronica.

Movies- mostly comedy or action, but very rarely enjoy horror movies.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with those around me in a meaningful way. Showing people around and sharing what I love about my country has been another incredible experience.
