ABOUT ME

I work at a nonprofit immigration law firm based in LA and Tijuana, MX. For the past four years, I have worked extensively with asylum seekers and undocumented people in the U.S. I am passionate about my work and I am grateful to have a job that treats me well :)

I grew up in Los Angeles to a single mother from El Salvador. I went to UCLA, where I gained a Bachelor's of Arts with a major in Psychology and a Minor in Chicanx Studies.

PHILOSOPHY

I am very critical and open to dialogue. I love to talk about all aspects of life and living, and the ways in which the different societies we live in function, and why they function differently than each other. I think about psychology a lot and reflect on my life and the world. I love positivity, selflessness, and advocate for self-care.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I've only ever couchsurfed once before, and I enjoyed it a lot. At the time, I was in college and my host was very kind and thoughtful.

I'm on couchsurfing because I love to meet new people and share my interests with them. I love showing my photographs and learning from people.

I believe the best way to understand and enjoy any place is by interacting and learning from locals.

As a host, I wish to show travelers what the city has to offer. I have lived in LA all my life and can talk for hours about its history, where to find the best food (it's usually from street vendors), where to go that isn't too touristy, etc. I also like to talk about politics, current events, immigration, among other things.

兴趣

I love all forms of art. I am a photographer.

I've done photography for a few years now and though I love my photos, I haven't gotten around to sharing them online, so it's mostly for myself right now.

I also love adventure. My favorite way to explore a place is to walk through it as much as I can. Walking through a new-to-me city is amazing.

I love music. I love to sing and listen to all my favorite songs all the time. My mood changes all the time, so I put only some of my favorite artists below. lol.

I love to share knowledge and am willing to discuss anything at great length. This ties into my philosophy that any relationship, even that of host/guest is reciprocal. I want to learn as much from a host as the host will learn from me.
