About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to fill my being with fascinating cultural and exciting international experiences which will eject me from the monotonous conveyor belt of American society and throw me into a whirlwind of truly living life.

ABOUT ME

One of my 13 year old students told me to "go fuck a horse." I didn't.

My dad invented the water noodle, but didn't get any credit (I am not the ba-gillionaire I should be).

I am a D1 National Champion (Northwestern Women's Lacrosse - 2005), and love to talk about it.

I love photography, ice cream, warm socks, and the word "bitchin."

PHILOSOPHY

My life ambition is to never settle or get caught up in unimportant societal values.

Thus, I take off and travel around the world and give myself the time and savings I need to DO WHAT I WANT INSTEAD OF WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO. (That deserves caps, clearly.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just recently learned of Couch Surfing, but am fascinated by the prospect of having international travelers and fabulous humans stay on my plush, comfy, and oversized couch.

I love strangers and encourage all interesting travelers to rest on my couch, and share the wonders of traveling, exploration, and adventure with a friendly and slightly odd hostess.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just learned of CouchSurfing, and have yet to experience the couch stories that I am sure will entertain many.

Interests

I love eating colorful foods, walking barefoot, singing at the top of my lungs, organizing clutter, doing dishes (i know, crazy), photography, painting, reading, writing my never-ending and always changing novel (don't hold your breath, I am starting to realize this is more about the experience than the final product), and wrestling with my dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Life is Beautiful
Music: Classic Rock, R&B, Alternative, Showtunes
Books: Flowers for Algernon, Life of Pi, Go Ask Alice, anything John Grisham

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been very lucky to have a wonderful, well traveled grandfather who took my family to Antarctica 10 years ago - to date the absolute best trip of my life, gorgeous views, adorable penguins, fascinating history and environment... a top must-see for any traveler.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love psychology, studied it in college and may someday go back to school for it. How the human mind works and is influenced never ceases to fascinate me, and is a part of every element of life.

I love art - it was my second major and while photography and painting are my current hobbies, I would love to learn other artforms - particularly music based. Guitar lessons anyone?
