About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Putting off grown up life just a little bit longer...

ABOUT ME

I'm Rachel, I've been lucky enough to travel heaps of places but all that has made me realise is just how much more there is to see out there! I was born in New Zealand but grew up in Indonesia and Hong Kong so got to see lots of Asia as a kid. Went back to NZ for uni but got bored with stability and finished my degree in Austin, Texas - the best city in the world!

One year of horribly depressing real world working to save up later, and I'm spending six months in South America and Europe. I travelled South America with Team Beatrice, ie me and 2 other friends and will spend the next 2 or so months throwing tomatoes in Spain, island hopping in Croatia and exploring eastern Turkey with my little brother.

I've already couchsurfed a couple times with other friend's profiles, and am keen to get more involved when I run out of money and spend some solid time in one place!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, and happiness is good so live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far only surfing with other friends in South America, but looking forward to getting more into it when I'm in NZ!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

With my friend Katie Casstevens, I've couchsurfed in Chile and with my friend Helen Lyttelton, in Colombia. So far, only a surfer and not a host, but this will change!
