ABOUT ME

This profile reps Kaitlyn and Rachel, two friends who are traveling Europe together!

Rachel:
I am about to start my graduate school program in physical therapy. While I am excited, I really want to get some traveling out of my system before I start. My dream job is to travel all around the world meeting new people and getting paid for it.

Kaitlyn:

I am working and trying to figure out what I want to do in life. I'm thinking nursing, but am not sure yet. I met Rachel through work and we have become best friends. I am an outgoing, fun, love to cook and am up for anything. I love my fam, my cats, and being random with friends!

We just found out about couchsurfers as we are about to start our trip.. We think it would be a great way to integrate ourselves into the communities we are traveling to. We are very easygoing, energetic, and love to have fun. We like to be active and do outdoorsy things but also are down to veg at times. We love to go out and and are up to try most things at least once. One quality that we have is respect for others- whether they are our neighbors, roommates, or friends. I think that we will get a completely different perspective couchsurfing with locals than we would if we stayed solely at hostels. We love meeting people, hearing their stories or making memories with them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never used CS but during my time in Australia (I studied there for 6 months)at one point I was homeless and surfing some couches.... I met some of the most interesting, crazy, beautiful people ever. I found out a lot about myself and really opened up as a person. It was exhilarating to live without the material objects weighing me down!

Interests

Skiing/snowmobiling, hiking, laughing, relaxing with some good wine or beer, movies, yoga, running, attempting to cook, dancing. I am very spontaneous and am open to trying new things. Attempting to figure out my new camera.. I am obsessed with pictures!!!

I love any type of movies. For an example, recent movies I have seen and liked were the Black Swan, Life As We Know It, Invictus, and Milk.

I want to learn more about the culture of the countries I visit. It is great to meet people in hostels, but it is a different experience than one you get when you interact with people from that country.

I want to teach and share my culture and customs and my passion for life with others.
