ABOUT ME

Things about me....

Well, I love to try new experiences that put me outside of my comfort zone. This makes life so much more enjoyable and creates memories you won't forget!

Also, right now I'm a senior at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa USA studying accounting and law. I've been working for Pioneer Hi-Bred for over a year in their finance department working on a variety of different projects. This summer they have sent me to work in their European headquarters in Lugano, Switzerland! In August I will return to the States and finish my education at Drake, and then hopefully come back to Lugano and continue working for them.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I became very active in Couchsurfing in the summer of 2010 when I lived and worked in Switzerland. I traveled all around Europe every weekend when I didn't work, and surfed all of the couches I could. It was such a great opportunity for me to get in touch with people in each city but also a chance for them to show me more of the local life instead of just the main tourist attractions. It was also so much more fun to be with another person instead of seeing places by myself.

Interests

The thing I love most is hanging out with my friends around a bond fire or watching a movie and just relaxing with the people I love most. I also love watching football and sipping a beer (the superbowl is my 3rd favorite holiday...and yes it is an actual holiday to me). Other interests include trying new foods, biking, of course traveling, and financial planning (kind of nerdy I know...but that's my job and I love it!).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music...I'm pretty open and enjoy all kinds of genres. I can go from 90's boy bands to rap music to country music in the same hour.

Movies...comedies or action movies. No horror movies because I get scared way too easily.

Books...It's been so long since I've read a book for pleasure and not my accounting and law books for school that it's hard to remember. One of my favorites though is Conspiracy of Fools which is about the Enron scandal (again, nerdy I know).
