About Me

Travel is very important to me. I feel most alive and free when I am traveling. The ocean is my go to and snorkeling heals my soul. I love meeting new people and finding myself in situations that allows me to do so.

I lived on Maui for a couple years and found my healing/happy place. Maui is missed and I would love to be with her again someday. I traveled throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and met some of the nicest people to date. My next goal is to travel Asia, Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia. I would love to volunteer with Chernobyl Children International.

I love working with the cognitively challenged and it is my passion. Connecting with individuals with varying abilities is very rewarding. Caring for people, listening, loving, giving, honesty, making people laugh are just some of the things that I feel are good qualities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a former Peace Corps volunteer. I served in a small country called Lesotho in Southern Africa. My job was to teach educators how to set up a Special Education program and to overcome the stigma associated with special needs. My Saturday morning consisted of early door knocking by children that wanted to read with me. I welcomed them into my house, but had to constantly tell them to come back in two hours, I guess they were excited to read. Their school did not have many sports, and therefore I started and after school track program. HIV/AIDS outreach is the secondary job of ALL Peace Corps volunteers.
