About Me

Hola! I'm Rachel, studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain for the semester. I'm from Canada, but grew up in Mexico City. I speak fluent Spanish, and love everything about Latin American and Spanish culture. I'm studying International Development Studies and Spanish at university.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm doing almost all my traveling by myself, so it's always nice to meet new people that know the cities I'm visiting! I want to make friends everywhere.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Major Lazer, Diplo, James Bay, Years & Years, Travi$ Scott, Drake, Justin Bieber, Borns, Kygo, Vance Joy
Books: The Catcher in the Rye, To Kill a Mockingbird, Hunger Games, Divergent, Harry Potter
Movies --- I don't watch a lot of movies, but I just finished watching Friends for the first time and I don't know what to do with my life anymore. Also, Prison Break, How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode a camel and crossed into a different continent by ferry last weekend, which I think is amazing. But, honestly, probably the coolest thing I can do is fold a fitted bed sheet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help practice Spanish! I can also be handy with a lot of things (I know a little bit of everything from car-parts to simple video editing, etc), and I like to think that I'm pretty strong and can help move heavy things and with tasks that aren't normally girly.

I would love to learn a new language, and I'm still deciding between German, Portuguese, and Italian! So would love to learn that! Also, learning how to cook different foods is awesome!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an upbeat person who is more than happy to help out with almost anything, I don't have a lot of set talents, but I'm mediocre at a lot of things. I will usually be able to figure stuff out, and share the load :)
