I was born on Long Island but live in Raleigh, NC. I'm studying to be a high school English teacher. My biggest passion is learning languages. I have spent time studying Spanish, French, and Arabic, and I hope to be fluent in them all one day. I also want to learn Russian, Catalan, Quechua, and Haitian Creole. I can carry a conversation in Spanish, but with other languages I'm...more of a listener.

I want to travel and speak to people who know these languages so I can get to know them better in their own native tongue! I also love to travel for its own sake, especially to see the beautiful natural landscapes all across our awesome world.

I am a college student and can't afford to stay in expensive hotels when I travel. Also, I think the most important and meaningful part of traveling is meeting people in the local area. I once studied abroad in London for an entire month and didn't even get to know a single local! I was too caught up in my own bubble with the people I knew from my own college, and I deeply regret missing the opportunity to meet new people and learn about life in the area. I hope I can make up for it by meeting cool hosts on Couchsurfing and getting to hear their stories.

I love Kanye West more than my own life (my favorite album of his is Late Registration). My favorite movie is probably Get Out. I also love comedies and bad horror films. I've seen The Room two times (and counting), and I'm psyched for Disaster Artist. I think I love books too much to pick a favorite, but right now I'm reading Assata Shakur's autobiography.
