About Me

I think the people who I've met in my lifetime would agree that I'm friendly, sociable, and eccentric as hell. I share a sacred bond with music. I love to learn and adventure. I woke up at a very young age - becoming very aware and observant of my life as well as my environment - and realized at a young age that I love exploring people and places, and making connections.

my mate (who I travel with,) Josh, is very much like me, but a bit more reserved. I travel with him and our canine friend, Mona. she's a six-year-old blonde/white pit/lab mix, and very friendly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I realized at a certain point growing up that normal scares me. It was playing out the scenario of being stuck in the same routine for the rest of my life that caused me to decide that that's not what I want to do. So many of the people around me are preparing themselves to settle down, and I'm preparing myself to take off and begin a journey of my own. I want to find like-minded individuals who like my ideologies, support me in my endeavors to develop a deeper understanding about the world around me as well as contribute a whole lot of goodness!

Josh, Mona, and I began our nation-wide expedition to have as much fun as we can and learn as much as we can while we explore this beautiful world!

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as music goes, I can get down with just about anything that isn't too generic, but there are exceptions. I can remember being taught slave songs during middle school by my music teacher as a history lesson. He translated words so we'd understand what they were singing about, and I thought it was lovely. I grew up on a lot of old fashioned American rock and roll like The Rolling Stones, ACDC, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Alice Cooper, etc. My mother helped shape my taste in music as well as all the people I've met and the places I've been that play songs that resonate with me. I like twenties-forties jazz, the nifty fifties swing and rockabilly music, psychedelic sixties jams, seventies rock, wasn't much of a fan of disco, but I appreciate funky old school rap that sprang from the late eighties (like Run DMC,) and enjoy nineties grunge, rock, and rap. As far as modern music goes, my favorite genres include Indie, Alternative rock, rap, and hip-hop. I'm not a big fan of country music, although Johnny Cash and select songs are exceptions. I really dig trap beats and more deep, meaningful, and philosophical rap. I don't like super heavy music too much. I like clean vocals, to be able to understand the lyrics, and for it to sound pleasing to my ears. I like technical music, though, that's off-time and melodic.

I love obscure film. Psychological thrillers are probably my favorite genre. I also love to laugh, and my sense of humor is silly, raunchy, ridiculous, and can also be very dark.

I have a poor attention span, so information that I can absorb in one short sitting is my favorite way to read. I often times read articles, but I love learning about science, health, nature, mysticism, psychology, religion, and my favorite types of books would probably be ones that incorporate any combination of them. I especially enjoy learning esoteric knowledge.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made a decision to put myself on a path to peace and happiness.

Teach, Learn, Share

My mission is to share what I've learned over time as well as to learn from others. I'm an aspiring musician. I don't know a whole, whole lot about playing instruments, but I'm mostly currently learning more about playing my guitalele. it's a hybrid instrument - a guitar and ukulele. I've been writing lyrics as far back as I can remember, and I'll sing my heart out when I'm feeling comfortable enough. I'd love to get to meet anybody who is excited as I am to reach out and genuinely connect. Also, if you're as much of a creative person or as keen on music as I am, we should get along like two peas in a pod. I'd love to make art with anybody I meet and explore talents and minds!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Characteristics that I have, that I'm constantly working on, and that I seek in others is eagerness to learn and grow, friendliness, respect, empathy, compassion, integrity, wisdom, courage, and love. I think the people I've met in my time would agree that I'm kind, trustworthy, and approachable... some might even call me a hippie. That's okay with me, though! I only plan on sticking around one city/state for a day or two. If you're willing to have us, we gladly clean up after ourselves. we're willing to learn and adapt to your diets, and if you want to teach us how to prepare unfamiliar meals to us, we'd not only be open-minded but excited to experience that.
