About Me

I am a student of many things. I believe education should go far beyond schools or classrooms and that immersion is the most natural way to really learn about anything. I enjoy baking, cooking, learning languages, playing outside, and making new friends. I have two cats, Cheezburger and Frank who I leave with my amazing housemates when I am out of town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Truly, adventure has got to be one of the greatest things. I want to learn about the world by experiencing it; not just seeing the sights, but living how the locals do. Making new friends has got to be an added bonus, though. ^-^

Interests

I enjoy L.A.R.P.-ing (including several games such as Amtgard, Dagorhir, and Dystopia Rising), reading, shopping, playing outside, rolling around in the grass, making things out of beads or clay or paints, seeing beautiful places and meditating on the goodness of it all. I like to learn about languages, cultures, and history. If I stop to read every historical land marker I see, it's because I am truly curious.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to these things. I am nearly an obsessive bibliophile. My library grows faster than I can read what I attain. As for music and movies, though I can admit to enjoying them on a record or at a movie theatre, I really would rather spend the time seeing a play or a concert on stage somewhere live.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak German and English and would love language exchange. I also like to cook and eat and would like to learn about new cuisine. I'm pretty open about talking about my hobbies and experiences and enjoy people who are the same! :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal? A walk down the street? A party? A show? A grocery bill? My life story? I'll sing you a song and make you a bracelet. We can take a picture to remember things by, or pick a flower and press it and display it on the wall if it would serve better.
