About Me
Let's see... I am a music therapist by trade. I love helping people, and facilitating healing and personal development through the power of music... And, then, while already a music therapist, a bit later in the game, I returned to school to study video production. My secret ( and perhaps not-so-secret ambition) is to be a filmmaker and writer. I recently completed a one-year Certificate program in Television Arts ( video production, editing, cameras, lighting, etc). I am hoping to streamline these new skills into work and new career prospects!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing to communicate with, and connect with, amazing people around the planet! I think it is absolutely amazing that we have this network available to us. I am very grateful... And, in the more immediate present, my old friend Nicole and I are traveling cross country in the beginning of September! We are hoping to meet, and connect with, some new people across the country. We are hoping to meet some new people who can help us to get to know other parts of the country.
Interests
My current interests lie mostly in the areas of: filmmaking, writing, reading, editing, books, acting, etc.. However, I am also very interested in traveling, and in meeting new people. I also love nature and beautiful landscapes! I am really, really excited for my upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon. I wish I lived more in nature, or got out to nature more... I love it. Very inspiring.

Music, Movies, and Books
For someone who professes this area as my main area of interest, I wish I could offer more detailed films and books that I love ... I will say this, I like thought-provoking books and films, as well as comedies, and dark comedies as well.
I love Jeff Bridges, and some of the thought-provoking films about the human condition that he has starred in such as "The Door in the Floor" and "Fearless". I also love off-beat comedies such as "Brides Maids" with Kristin Wiig.
In regards to books, I love "We were the Mulvaneys" by Joyce Carol Oats. Such a profound book about family relationships and the human condition. I also love most books by John Irving. They are hilarious in their commentary of politics and the human condition.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Let's see... I guess going back to school in my 30's is something I am proud of ... I am proud because I studied something that may not actually pay the bills ( television arts / video production) ... But, I followed my passion, and we will see where it leads me!
What I Can Share with Hosts
With my hosts, I hope to share a simple conversation. If you are interested in my travels and my interests, I would love to share with you! Also, I would love to learn about your life too, and what it is like in your home town. I love meeting people from all walks of life, and getting to know them. Also, people sometimes tell me that I am a good listener... so I look forward to learning, listening, and maybe hearing a story or two :)
