Hey All,
Short & Simple. I left a job in Media for a short term break and 2 years later I'm still travelling. I spent most of that time in beautiful New Zealand my heart will always be there-but now it is time to move on.
I'm now in OZ seeing what it has to offer. Although I'm a little homesick for NZ, I'm always up for meeting people to proove what the community, culture and country have to offer.
I'm a casual traveller-I usually like to drop roots rather than hop place to place. So if you can convince me to stay in your hometown-I'll happily open my ears and mind to why.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Extreme or Relaxed, im here for experiences, culture and Laughter to collect stories rather than objects to take back home. I packed up my business, put my stuff in storage and left the UK with only a few boxes to my name, so I can live simply. Lets be honest-travelling does not come cheap. But if im going to invest time and money in a country-i'd like to do it the area's that don't alway see tourism-homes, communities and small businesses. Couchsurfing is the chance to go somewhere new, and save a few pennies for better use than another hostel chain.

Interests

Film & Media, Theatre &Performance-I do try to work in these when im wanted! Or free (very rare)Design & Illustration...another work area. Music is always a selector, Literature & Creative writing, Major History Buff with dusty Knowledge, A Martial Arts enthusiast with Rusty Skills that has found a love of Yoga. And Obviously TRAVEL- roulette weekend travel, or super anal organised travel...im there. With a backpack and a book. (Always happy to find a park or cafe at the end of a busy adventure)

Music-If i can dance to it or feel it. It'll play it. Led Zeppelin & Classic Rock Legends, Foo Fighters & Alt Rockers, Alternative & Underground style Pop/Rock, Modern Folk, Retro Classics Like Glen Miller, American Smooth, The Jazz era. Im happy to be educated.
Books-Vintage Classics & Fantasy/History Based-i'm training myself in non fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Currently Running a small achievements Challenge, where i am given a challenge and small donation for charity to complete and donate myself. At the end of 2018 i hope to have raised atleast /£200 so thats atleast 100 challenges completed and 1 donor per challenge. So far 30% of the way-but a bigger country with bigger opportunities.
Over 100 hours community service working for local theatre, companiesand communities in the Arts & creative teaching.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to teach English culture, phrases and advice in exchange for my own foreign language education.
I have Computer skills with (now consideted rusty) graphics skills. If you need some fancy business graphics I'm happy to share some skills. Or some painting/mural work?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Language, Culture, stories, mad event planning skills, Illustration & Artwork, Cooking. And if needed Light housekeeping for extra benefit exchanges :)
I'm big on recycling-just coz I was brought up in a zero waste household (before it was fashionable-we were just practical) I can help with taking recycling to local centre's, separting your trash to treasure and help with composting/reusing.
