About Me
Hey guys!
My name is Rachel (as you've presumably seen). I'm just a human trying to be the best version of myself.
Over the last few years I've embarked on a bit of a journey of personal growth and the pursuit of happiness. I realize that sounds extremely cheesy, but it is entirely true. I left my 70k a year management job because I realized I wasn't actually living. I'd become a zombie. I've been traveling since to recover (and discover) who I am both at my best and my worst and who I want to be.
Quite honestly, I don't believe in much. But the one thing I do believe in is that, generally speaking, people are good and everyone has something to offer. One of my focuses in my travels is trying to engage with as many people as I can and be open to what they have to offer and to give as much back as I can. That being said, I am also naturally introverted and will occasionally take self care time tucked away in my shell.
I'm always happy to grab a drink and swap travel stories, so if we're in the same general area hit me up ! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing more for the community and the social aspect than for the "couchsurfing" bit. When you're alone, in a new city, and nervous the best ice breaker I've found (being naturally shy) is to hop onto hangouts or to find an event. It's an amazing thing to find interesting and usually likeminded people at your fingertips when you're abroad.
Interests
My posted interests are fairly generic, but that's honestly because I'm interested in just about anything new to me. I love trying new things, learning new skills, and learning how to make things. I just haven't found what I'm truly passionate about.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a highly varied taste in music that will change from day to day. Live music, almost any live music, is the best thing in the world.
I love to read, currently enjoying short stories as you don't get too lost if you get busy traveling/living.
I love older movies. Mel Brooks films and the Monty Python films are high on my list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'll have to come back to this. Amazing things happen every day if you're watching.
Teach, Learn, Share
As stated above, I love learning and would love to share learning experiences with others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an excellent listener and have been told I'm fairly decent company to keep.
More than happy to cook you a meal and do some cleaning :)
Smiles and good vibes!
