About Me

NOTE: I am currently travelling South East Asia and the Americas, returning home around the end of September, so I am unable to host guests until after that date. Thanks guys!

My name is Rachel, and I am in my mid twenties.
I grew up and remain living to this date in a tiny coastal town in the south of New South Wales of Australia, known as Wollongong.
I spend my time when home studying at university, working at a day spa as a massage therapist, and spending time at the beach, or out having a drink with my friends or my wonderful partner Mason.
When I'm not based at home I am travelling abroad, which is one of my greatest pleasures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am always interested in meeting new people from all over the world, hearing their stories, learning about their culture and beliefs.
I hope couch surfing will be a way for me to meet new people, and share some fun experiences with other avid travellers similar to myself!

Interests

I am insanely into cinema, food, and music.
I love food a crazy amount - whether preparing it or eating it. Italian is my favourite, but I will eat pretty much every cuisine.
My music taste is quite eclectic and ranges from older stuff such as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, to semi more recent stuff, such as The Cure, Talking Heads, Joy Division and The Smiths (I'm sure you get the picture).
I am also largely into classic and cult classic films such as anything by Tarantino, Kubrick, David Lynch.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite books thus far are:
Perfume - The Story of a Murderer
The Lord of the Rings trilogy
The Alchemist
Breath
and a myriad of cook books!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've currently put university on hold to travel the world for a year!
Throwing caution to the wind and taking a chance travelling with my partner has probably been one of the bravest and hopefully most amazing things I have done to date.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently trying to learn Spanish but am more than eager to have a crack at learning pretty much any language I can!
If anyone is looking to learn English I am also a very patient teacher and am happy to help anyone that is trying to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a bunch of stories, hopefully some laughs (I think I'm pretty funny so hopefully that translates haha) and a few beers with some new friends!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam
