My name is Rachel, from Austin, TX. I recently decided to take a cross country road trip to see the beauty that is America. It all started because I wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, and then I thought why not just go on a road trip and see all the places I never knew I wanted to go.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I am taking a cross country road trip to see the beauty that America has to offer. I want to really experience each city/town I visit and go where the locals go! That is definitely the best way to experience a new place.

Interests

I love yoga, hiking, going to the cinema, reading, etc. One of my favorite pastimes is hanging out at Barnes & Noble or other bookstores for hours on end. I'm not so much a runner, but I love going for walks like it is nobodies business. I've walked from the Lower East Side to Harlem in New York City, around the 10 mile loop on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, and am looking to walk more across America.

Living in Austin, I am definitely a fan of live music and any outdoor event. I love going to outdoor movies in the park type things, festivals, city hosted events.
