About Me
Hi everyone, My name is Rachel.
I grew up in Malaysia, a "small potato" in South East Asia, neighbouring Singapore and Indonesia. It is a beautiful country with rich culture and wonderful food.
And I am currently studying in Dublin, Ireland and I wish to travel around Europe before I completed my course here.
I have brave and daring ideas and thoughts but cowardly actions. I really need to improve on that by pushing myself towards boundaries more and more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to coach surfing and I really hope I could enrich my travelling experiences by this. So far I never coach surfed before.
I do not want to be a "touch-and-go" traveller, but really hope to blend into the culture of the places I visit and I think coach surfing is the best way to mix with the locals.
I love to talk to people from all walks of life because it gives me a lot of insight to life, etc... I hope this wonderful experience in Europe could build me up into a more special woman.
Interests
I have great interest in music, reading, and travelling. I love singing and music can really connects me with people fast.
Reading gives me a break from my studies. I enjoy the alone time when I have the chance to read.
Travelling! So far I have visited Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Macau, Taiwan, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Uk and France. I would love to add on to my lists during my years here in Dublin. Travelling enriches my life so much more and I learn something I can never experience from my books. Travelling give me a chance to meet wonderful people with different personalities and upbringing from different cultural background. I love travelling <3

Music, Movies, and Books
Don't really have a favourite. I listen to a huge variety of songs, watch almost every movies if I am free.
For books, I love fiction such as Hunger Games and Percy Jackson. Sometimes, I do read some Christian materials to help me in my walk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I joined a "Wilderness Adventure Camp" which kind of similar to "Survivors" (the variety show many years ago). Basically went without showering for seven days on an isolated island with my team. We need to build our own shelter and toilet and kitchen and survive with very very basic necessities. And we moved our camp every two days so that at the end of the week we will reach our main campsite and rejoin the others. Mode of transportation: mostly on feet, sometimes "kayaking" (canoeing). A memorable experience that I would not forget for the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
being brought up in Malaysia, I am privileged to learn the three main languages: Malay, English and Chinese. I know how to speak dialects as well which add to the list of languages I know. I took up Spanish and German in university and I hope to practice them if I got the chance to. I love to talk about travelling experiences, music, life, business, whatever... Compared to talking, I actually love to listen more.
