About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To sell all of my belongings, wander the country, and meet beautiful people,

ABOUT ME

Trainhopping gypsy in love with life and the desert.

PHILOSOPHY

I once took a trip to the Bisbee Pride Festival in Bisbee, AZ. It was a lot of wine and drag queen bingo. I woke up the next morning with a tattoo on my ribs that reads "EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL" beside a crooked and terribly done sugar skull. It is my favorite tattoo, and definitely how I try to live my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am in the process of selling every single thing I own and leaving to Live in Slab City and trainhop around for a while. Until I leave, I am looking to host and make connections in Tucson.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a newb.

Interests

Cactus, painting everything, music music music, playing wiffle ball, exploring, avocados, writing, harmonica, skateboarding, wine, sitting in parks and graveyards reading poetry and talking philosophy, taking adventures and unplanned road trips and coming up with terrible/wonderful ideas.

Last year for Cinco de Mayo, I filled a guitar shaped pinata with ten tacos, three churros, a shit ton of confetti, and a few bottles of hot sauce, and took it to the folk festival for strangers to hit. When the pinata burst open, the glass bottles shattered on the concrete, hot sauce went everywhere, it looked like blood, people screamed, and some people pulled shattered glass off the tacos and ate them. This is what I mean by terrible/wonderful ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

National Geographic, Kerouac, Patti Smith, Electric Kool-Aid, Tom Robbins, Vonnegut, etc. I fucking love The Big Lebowski; Pulp Fiction, The Doors Movie, Fargo, Frida, Eternal Sunshine, Almost Famous, American Psycho, Anchorman, all Wes Anderson. I haven't owned a television in years, but the internet and Netflix provide me with my fill of Dexter, Breaking Bad, Seinfeld, and The Daily Show.

The Doors, Modest Mouse, Johnny Hobo, Black Lips, CCR, Ramshackle Glory, King Crimson, Fleet Foxes, Tame Impala, Felice Brothers, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, G. Love, Phish, Grizzly Bear, White Stripes, Times New Viking, Ty Segall, Television. I collect vinyls and love great bluesy guitar and grungy riffs.

If you like Thee Oh Sees, we should be friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a year of my life as an AmeriCorps volunteer at an arts-based day program for children and adults with disabilities. The experiences from that- teaching ceramics to children with Autism, allowing adults who could not move or speak to paint and create through the use of adaptive headgear and drawing tools, watching the smiles on faces of people whose lives had been a constant struggle- truly changed me and made me seek meaning in everything. I was unable to go back to a retail job after this experience because I realized what an impact I can make, and how so many people can benefit from the help of others.
